We are using our Sport Premium to improve the quality of PE and Sport provision in the following ways:

2015/2016

  • £1,000 has been spent on cover to enable the Subject Leader to develop a new curriculum map and assessment procedures. This had ensured the children have access to a well balanced curriculum and a range of sporting opportunities.
  • £1,000 has been spent on PE Resources to support the new Curriculum Map and enable to children’s lesson to be fully resourced to ensure all the children are fully engaged throughout all lessons.
  • £800 has been used to release class teacher to plan with our PE Specialist on an area of the curriculum they felt they needed the support.
  • £7,060 put towards the Sport England Primary Spaces MUGA to ensure children have the maximum potential to participate in a range of sports during playtimes, lunchtimes and after school. Also to ensure that children have the space during their PE lesson to achieve their full potential.

2014/2015

  • £4,290 Employment of Elite Feet to get children active during Breakfast Club, to train up sports leaders during playtimes and run Motor Skills clubs.
  • £1,500 Purchasing quality assured professional training for staff to raise their confidence and competence in teaching PE and sport through the Barnet Partnership for School Sports and Barnet Partnership for School Improvement.
  • £600 Providing cover staff to release teachers for professional development in PE and sport.
  • £2,500 Purchase of equipment for playtimes/lunchtimes
  • £1,000 Appointment of a Community Links Co-ordinator.

2013/2014

  • £2,800 Purchasing quality assured professional training for staff to raise their confidence and competence in teaching PE and sport through the Barnet Partnership for School Sports and Barnet Partnership for School Improvement.
  • £300 Providing cover staff to release teachers for professional development in PE and sport.
  • £850 Introducing new IT equipment for use in PE (such as Apple TV and iPads), to allow children the opportunity to evaluate their own skills as well as their peers. Investment in the use of IT in lessons will also aid teacher assessment and the progress of children during PE lessons.
  • £750 Subject Leader cover to ensure PE curriculum is monitored closely, as well as attending subject leader meetings and supporting other staff across the school.Hiring professional sports coaches to teach the children different sports during curriculum time.
  • £400 Purchasing more sports equipment to ensure that our equipment is of good quality and substantial in order to support our PE lessons.
  • £3,500 Purchasing sports clothing for all teachers and assistants to wear in PE lessons so they can set a good example to all children and also for safety and to show good practice in lessons.
  • £1,000 Appointment of a Community Links Co-ordinator.
