This is an amazing opportunity for two inspiring Class Teachers to join our teaching team from September 2023, one for 5 days a week and one for 2 days a week (this will be a job share role). The successful candidates will have experience of teaching across at least one key stage previously. We are also happy to hear from ECT teachers. These roles are offered initially as a one-year contract with a view moving these to permanent contracts for strong candidates.

TEACHING ASSISTANT

Salary: Grade D £23,816 to £25,125 FTE
Hours: TA – 33.75 hours per week, term time only
Basis: Offered as a one year contract initially
St Catherine’s is a friendly, warm and welcoming two form entry Catholic primary school with nurseries for 2 to 4 year olds on site. The school takes pride in offering an inclusive, caring and stimulating learning environment for its pupils. We have wonderful children who are eager to learn, dedicated staff and strong partnerships with parents / carers. We believe in developing children with the skills to be great learners through a broad, balanced and creative curriculum.
We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our team at St Catherine’s for 5 days per week, hours as above. This positions are offered as one year contracts initially and will commence as soon as possible. Candidates should have experience of, or a passion for, working with SEND children.
You must have sound knowledge of how children learn and a number of strategies to encourage learning. You will need to be sensitive to the special needs of individual children and be able to work as part of a team. Previous experience of working with special needs children and running intervention groups would be useful. Candidates will need to demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm and have excellent literacy and numeracy skills.

The salary for this role will be within the range stated and dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB SUPERVISOR
Salary: Unified Rewards Grade A, £23,457 to £24,804 (FTE)

We are looking for an After School Club Supervisor to join our existing friendly and committed team. We would like someone who is highly motivated and able to use their own initiative when working with pupils attending the After School Club. They will need to be someone who will nurture and engage with our pupils during club sessions.
The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for the care and supervision of all pupils
- Assist with the registration of pupils at the club and other admin tasks as required.
- Prepare appropriate activities for children to undertake and engage pupils in those activities within a caring environment.
- Develop good relationships with all pupils attending the club, promoting positive behaviour as per the school behaviour policy
- Assist with the preparation of fruit and hot snacks and help younger pupils with eating their snack if needed. Help clear up food preparation areas and playing and eating areas at the end of the club.
- Follow school policies regarding: Safeguarding and Child Protection, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and Inclusion
- Be able to work within a small team, whilst also using their own initiative within a changing environment and become an active part of our team prepared to go the extra mile for the benefit of our school community
Hours of work are 15.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday. This position is term time only and is offered initially as a one year fixed term contract. An initial probationary period for half a term will be in place for this role.
The ideal applicant will have experience of working with children from the ages of 3 to 11. Qualifications in childcare and food hygiene would be desirable, although not essential.
