PASTORAL CARE MENTOR

 Salary:  Grade G £28,992 to £32,418 FTE (£25,385 to £28,385 Term time only)

St Catherine’s School governors are looking to appoint a Pastoral Care Mentor to lead on attendance and work closely with senior staff to continue to provide high quality and effective safeguarding and pastoral support. The role will involve maintaining accurate records and working with staff, children, parents and external agencies to ensure appropriate plans and strategies are maintained to support children and their families.

The role will also include close liaison with parents/carers to help maintain the outstanding attendance, motivation and success at St Catherine’s. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children and vulnerable families and a drive to make a difference to children’s lives.

The position would suit someone with social care experience or good knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable children and their families. The successful candidate will benefit from a personalised induction, support and professional development.

LEVEL 3 TEACHING ASSISTANT

Salary:  Grade F £26,052 to £28,992 FTE

We are looking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the team at St Catherine’s for 5 days per week, from 08.30 to 15.45 daily (33.75 hours per week).  We would like this to start as soon as possible and this will be a fixed term position running until 23rd July 2021.

 

You will ideally have either carried out a Level 3 TA role before or have previous experience of covering classes.  You must have sound knowledge of how children learn and a number of strategies to encourage learning.  You will need to be sensitive to the special needs of individual children and be able to work as part of a team.  Previous experience of working with special needs children on a one to one basis and running intervention groups would be useful. You need to be willing to work across all the age phases here at St Catherine’s (Nursery to KS2).  Candidates will need to demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm and have excellent literacy and numeracy skills.

BREAKFAST CLUB SUPERVISOR

Salary: Unified Rewards Grade A, £20,103 to 21,591 (FTE)

St Catherine’s School is looking for a Breakfast Club Supervisor to join our existing friendly and committed team who is highly motivated and able to work, using their own initiative, with pupils attending the Breakfast Club. We require someone who will nurture and engage with our pupils during Breakfast Club.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for the care and supervision of all pupils
  • Assist with the registration of pupils at the club and other admin tasks as required.
  • Prepare appropriate activities for children to undertake after breakfast and engage pupils in those activities within a caring environment.
  • Develop good relationships with all pupils attending club, promoting positive behaviour as per the school behaviour policy
  • Assist with the preparation of breakfast and help pupils with eating their breakfast if needed. Help clear up food preparation area and eating areas after the club ends.
  • Follow school policies regarding: Safeguarding and Child Protection, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and Inclusion
  • Be able to work within a small team, whilst also using their own initiative within a changing environment and become an active part of our team prepared to go the extra mile for the benefit of our school community

Hours of work are 7.30am to 9.00am Monday to Friday.  This position is term time only.

The ideal applicant will have experience of working with children from the ages of 4 to 11. Qualifications in childcare and food hygiene would be desirable, although not essential.
