Science

In Science, we have been learning to compare the suitability of materials. During the lesson, the children were given the opportunity to explore different types of materials.

In Science, we used several different scientific processes to investigate the properties of various materials and explained how they could be used according to their properties. 

This week, the children enjoyed our Science and DT lesson where we made ice lollies to show how a liquid can change state to a solid. 

4F learnt all about melting points of various substances by observing a practical where butter, chocolate and gummy bears were melted with tea lights.

In Science, we found out about microorganisms and set up an investigation to find them in our classroom.

This week, the children had a great time during Potions Day!

This week, Year 4 begun there new topic on Potions Day. They made their own lava lamps and custard to investigate states of matter.

In Science, we have been learning about food chains. We spoke about what a consumer and a producer is and how animals can be herbivores, carnivores or omnivores.

This week 3E were learning how the different skeletons support movement. We experimented whether having the longest femur results in the further jump.
