Rights Respecting Schools – Our Next Steps!!

Mrs Ainger is planning to meet the year 2 children to inform them about the responsibilities of being a Rights Respecting Ambassador in Year 3.  T he Rights Respecting Ambassadors  endeavour to help children to:

  • Enjoy and feel empowered by their education.
  • Feel that their school responds to their needs.
  • Have the opportunity to let adults know their feelings and opinions about things that affect them.
  • Have a say about decisions, and to play an active role in making their school a better place.

The children were asked to think about whether they felt they could carry out these responsibilities. After School Journey the year 6 Ambassadors will be training up the children interested in this role.

World Oceans Day June 8th. Think about how the ocean affects you and how you affect the ocean. Visit

So what can we do?

On a local level, we should make ocean-friendly choices when buying products or eating food derived from oceans and consume only what we need.  Making small changes in our daily lives, like taking public transport and unplugging electronics saves energy. These actions reduce our carbon footprint, a factor that contributes to rising sea levels. We should eliminate plastic usage as much as possible and organize beach clean-ups.  Please listen to our advice.
