On Wednesday our A team travelled away to Goldbeaters Primary School in the 2nd round of the prestigious Dick Bailey Cup. On a freezing cold afternoon, we got off to a slow start and fell behind midway through the first half. Towards the end of the first half, we started to impose ourselves more & more onto the game and started to play the football we want to. However, we found ourselves 1-0 down at half time. After a spirited half-time discussion, we came out like a team with a purpose and were level within seconds of the second half. We grew in confidence and started to dominate the game, scoring 3 quick goals in the process. We added another late on to complete this memorable comeback and progressed to the third round with a 5-1 win. Our second half performance was outstanding and this is the level we need to be at from the first whistle in order to achieve our aspirations this season and bring silverware back to St. Catherine’s. We will now face Wren Academy in the third round, let’s go St. Catherine’s!
