Dear Parents and Carers,

Year 4 have had a lovely week enjoying the sunshine! We have been learning about Ocean Conservation and using figurative language in poetry. Please find your child’s learning and home learning below.

Times Tables: We have started the MTC checks and Year 4 have been doing so well! We are very proud to see how far their times table fluency has come. Results for the test will be sent to the school over the next few weeks, we will then make you aware of your child’s score.

Spelling Words:  strength suppose surprise therefore though thought through various weight woman

English: Next week in English we will looking at the features of dilemma stories. Year 4 will analyse what makes an engaging story as we prepare to apply these to our own narratives.

Maths: In Maths, children are continuing to learn about money. They will use their previous learning to make estimates for calculations such as £3.99 + £7.02. They will also apply their calculating skills with money to solve problems using all four operations in real-life contexts, including multi-step problems.

RE: In RE, children will have the opportunity to understand that the Church is “ good news” for us. They will learn about the Sacraments of life and why they are important.

PSHE: We are continuing to celebrate each other’s differences with an artistic activity.

Kind Regards,

Miss Bonfield and Mrs. Santangelo
