On Wednesday afternoon our boys football B team took on Sacred Heart here at St. Catherine’s. It was a great game played in glorious sun shine with both teams playing their part in this thrilling encounter. After an even first half Sacred Heart scored two quick goals mid-way through the second half to give them a commanding lead. Our boys never gave up and quickly pulled a goal back to set up a tense final 5 minutes. After continued pressure we were awarded a late penalty but it was not to be our day as Sacred Heart’s goalie pulled off a great save to deny us an equaliser with the last kick of the game. Our boys showed great courage and determination to nearly salvage a draw, which is the least we deserved on the day. Even though it was not the result we wanted it was great to see a few new faces in the colours of St. Catherine’s and representing our school so proudly. Well done boys 🙂
