Year 6 Weekly Update – 25/03/22

Dear parents,

We have had another brilliant week of learning and the children have done tremendously well in their SATs tests. The results will be shared with the children on Thursday 31st March and they will bring home their results, please ensure that they have shared their scores with you.
Next week we will be completing a D&T project where the children will be making igloos with their partners. We ask that each child brings in one packet of sugar cubes and a small bottle of crafting glue by Monday 28th March.
The learning for next week is:
English: Learning about the Titanic and the different experiences of different class passengers.
Maths: Percentages of an amount, percentages (missing values), shapes with the same area and area and perimeter.
PSHE: Learning about democracy and what it is.
D&T: Making their own igloos out of sugar cubes.
Guided Reading: Learning to be able to explain and summarise ideas from the text.
Spellings: Words with endings which sound like /shuhl/ after a vowel or consonant:
crucial, beneficial, official, artificial, essential, substantial. influential, confidential.
Please can you ensure that your child brings in their water bottle to school.
