On-line Safety

As our new school year begins, children in KS1 and KS2 children sign the Acceptable Use Agreement which includes the things the children must remember in order to stay safe online both when they are at home and school. This will be available for you to view under the policies section of the school website. Here, you can also read our full online safety policy for more detail on our approach to online safety. It is always important to monitor your child’s internet use at home and ensure that the necessary parental controls are set up. A useful website for advice on what you can be doing at home to keep your child safe is: https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents/

Since lockdown, children (and adults) been using devices and the internet more than ever. This is nothing to feel bad about. These devices have provided children with a way to complete school work, catch up with friends and family and have fun! However, it is important that children are reminded of how to ensure they are using devices in a healthy way. The Digital 5-a-day outlines this and helps children stay safe online and protect their mental well-being. The Digital 5-a-day is:

  • Connect
  • Be Active
  • Get Creative
  • Go To Others
  • Be Mindful
