Nursery Weekly Update

This week in phonics we have been developing our listening skills by learning some different types of body percussion such as stamping, clapping and clicking. We have been making patterns with these sounds and experimented with changing their volume and speed. The children also met Geraldine the Giraffe, our phonics puppet, for the first time!

In maths we have found out all about the number two. We practised making two by adding one object to another one.  We discussed things that are better when you have two such as gloves, socks and shoes.

We visited the library for the first time this week. The children enjoyed exploring the collection, reading independently and choosing some books for our book corner.

In RE we have learnt that God created each of us. He made us all different, but all special. We used mirrors to look at ourselves and notice things like our eye colour and hair colour and then we painted self portraits.
