Today the Year 5 & 6 children visited Martins school in Finchley. The children were so excited.
Martin Primary School is aiming to become a Rights Respecting School. As you are aware the Rights Respecting Schools Award programme supports schools to embed the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child . We met Mrs Julie Taylor (Community Cohesion Leader) Ms. Shona Glakin and some of the RRS Ambassadors from Martins School. They are on their from Silver level accreditation to Gold level accreditation. More information about our visit in next week’s newsletter.
Global Learning: Everyone Can Be A Goalkeeper!
At St Catherine’s we plan aims to instil in all our children the belief that everyone has the potential to be a Goalkeeper and to take action for the Sustainable Development Goals (Global Goals). The children identify and appreciate the different skills of all individuals, as well as themselves. . They learn to understand and appreciate the perspectives and world views of others and to act for collective well-being and sustainable development. Through the children’s RE, PSHE, topics and the wider curriculum the children will be able to explore this further.
