This week we have been focussing on the book ‘The Night Pirates’. We have created a storyboard and over the next few days we will be exploring the repetative language in it and rewriting the story. We will then use our imagination to write our own story.
We have been learning about 2D shapes and developing our vocabulary to describe their properties. We have also explored symmetry and practised finding a line of symmetry by folding the shape and using a mirror. Over the next few days, we will be exploring different ways of sorting shapes, as well as continuing shape sequences.

We have been exploring ways of working out change, by counting on in tens and then ones. This week we will be starting our new unit Geometry and will be learning the properties of shape. This unit will continue after half term.

Our new unit is ‘Measurement – money’. Last we learnt about the meaning of the symbols £, . and p. We finished the week with learning to add together quantities of money together to total specific amounts, this will continue into next week.
