The children had to search for hidden woodland creatures, after thinking about their natural habitat in the woodland. They made fantastic homes for their creatures, considering whether they were prey, predator or both.

Concentration, perseverance, engineering and team work – just some of the skills required for this seemingly straightforward activity. The children discussed how different cultures around the world use these ‘Cairns’ to mark sites of cultural importance or simply safe pathways used by generations of walkers.
