Last week, all of Key-Stage Two took part in drama and poetry workshops to investigate the people of the First World War and their stories. During the sessions, the children created scenes from different poems: some written to encourage men to fight in the war, such as, ‘Who’s for the Game?’ by Jessie Pope and one poem ‘Exposure’ by Wilfred Owen, which gave a soldier’s view of the war. This was a great opportunity for the children to reflect on the people who contributed to the war effort in the First World War and also learn about the significance of Remembrance Day.
