During assemblies this week we thought about the difference between a ‘want’ and a ‘need’. One of the activities we have is ‘Wants and needs Cards’. There are 20 different cards with wonderful new illustrations .
The idea is for us to decide if the object on each card is a ‘Want’ or a ’Need’? Stephen Crabb mentioned in his presentation that it would cost £60 to send an orphan to school for a year. Think about this! We can easily spend £60 on a football shirt, a computer game, a trip out. Do we need this?
During Lent, which starts next Wednesday, we are going to reflect on how we can serve others and not simply think about what we want.
