Wednesday 20 May 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 15/05/26 In Maths, we worked in groups to identify the capacity of containers and to compare the volume of liquids. We used our understanding of scales and increments in litres and millimetres to help us.

Wednesday 20 May 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 15/05/26 This week we combined our Art learning with our Forest School session. Rocks were arranged in different types, sizes and colours and crystals into interesting sculptural forms.

Tuesday 12 May 2026 French Weekly Update w/e 08/05/26 Year 3 pupils learnt about illness and injuries through a song about going to the doctor. Then they did speaking and writing tasks to explain where it hurts! Aïe!

Tuesday 12 May 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 08/05/26 In R.E this week, following on from our May procession, the children have been learning about the importance of Mary in prayer with the disciples and now with us too.

Tuesday 12 May 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 08/05/26 In Maths, we worked with our Talk Partners to explore masses using grams and kilograms. We found different ways of making 1kg using a variety of masses. This helped us solve problems.

Tuesday 5 May 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 01/05/26 This week in PSHE, we learnt that in an emergency it is important to remain calm, quick reactions can save lives and what we can do to help in an emergency, using our First Aid knowledge.

Tuesday 5 May 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 01/05/26 In Maths, we played a game where we had to crack the code by reading and finding missing values on a scale. We needed to determine the increments.

Tuesday 28 April 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 24/04/26 This week in Forest School and Science we have been learning about sedimentary, igneous and metaphoric rocks. We used magnifying glasses to study rocks such as marble and limestone to see if we could identify what type of rock they are.

Tuesday 28 April 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 24/04/26 This week in English, the children have been writing historical fiction about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. They have tried to use all of their senses to describe what happened.

Tuesday 21 April 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 17/04/26 In English, we used illustrations from the book 'Escape to Pompeii' to make inferences about the images based on what we could see in the picture."

Tuesday 21 April 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 17/04/26 This week the children have been introduced to a new book Literacy, 'Escape from Pompeii' by Christina Balit. Using their understanding of the characters in the text, the children wrote direct speech using inverted commas to punctuate it correctly.

Friday 10 April 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 27/03/26 Year 3 had a great time at the playground on Monday, investigating the different forces at use, as we jumped, slid, turned and swung on the different pieces of equipment. They will be writing a recount about this trip later on in the week.

Friday 10 April 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 27/03/26 In Maths this week, we explored unit fractions and played a game matching fractions with representations e.g. bar models and images.

Wednesday 25 March 2026 French Weekly Update w/e 20/03/26 Y3 watched a short film about a French boy celebrating his birthday, then worked in teams on an observation quiz, distributing questions and sharing answers. This completed our topic on giving the date and finding out about important events on the calendar. Joyeux Anniversaire!

Wednesday 25 March 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 20/03/26 As part of our continued celebrations for British Science Week 2026, the children took part in a whole-school Egg Drop Challenge. This hands-on STEM activity allowed them to explore materials, forces, protection, and creative problem-solving in a fun and engaging way.

Tuesday 24 March 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 13/03/36 This week, we investigated the question: 'What bubble shapes can you make?' We each created our own bubble wand with different shapes at the top and then investigated the bubble shapes they created.

Tuesday 24 March 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 13/03/26 Year 3 have a great Science week this week. They have really enjoyed creating their own bubble wands, and are looking forward to investigating how the different shapes will affect the shape of the bubbles.

Wednesday 11 March 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 06/03/26 We learned about the Liturgy of the Eucharist which is the ritualistic worship that we do to prepare to receive Jesus in Communion. We created a comic strip using symbols and captions to show the different parts of the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Tuesday 10 March 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 06/03/26 In Music in 3FW this week, the children were learning about symmetry in music. They used body percussion to create their own symmetrical pieces.
