Tuesday 28 April 2026 1H Weekly Update w/e 24/04/26 Last week the children in 1H continued their focus on weighing, this time comparing the mass of objects using cubes. They chose an object to put in one bucket of the scales then used cubes to see how many they would need to make the scales balance.

Tuesday 21 April 2026 1H Weekly Update w/e 17/04/26 In 1H the children have been learning to weigh objects using balance scales. They were able to say when one object was heavier or lighter than the other and give their reasons why they knew that.

Tuesday 21 April 2026 French Weekly Update w/e 17/04/26 Y1 pupils practised family vocabulary by playing Le Jeu des 7 Familles in teams. Then we learned the actions to a fun song about La Famille Doigts - a family of fingers!

Tuesday 21 April 2026 1P Weekly Update w/e 17/04/26 This week the children were learning about how we can measure objects in centimetres using a ruler.

Friday 10 April 2026 1H Weekly Update w/e 27/03/26 As part of our topic about space the childrenin 1H enjoyed using various construction toys to build their own rockets. When we came back after half term we were able to talk about the amazing Artemis mission around the moon and the children demonstrated the ability to talk about what they had seen and understood of the mission.

Wednesday 1 April 2026 1P Weekly Update w/e 27/03/26 This week the children created their own sweet shop and created the orders for the customers using dienes to help them create the 2-digit numbers.

Wednesday 25 March 2026 1P Weekly Update w/e 20/03/26 This week the children practised drawing out number lines up to 50 to consolidate their knowledge of how to write and say numbers up to 50.

Wednesday 25 March 2026 1H Weekly Update w/e 20/03/26 In 1H we have been learning how to order numbers to 50, including spotting missing numbers and using language such as greater than and fewer than. To help them apply their learning the children have enjoyed playing up and down arrows (like snakes and ladders) with their peers.

Tuesday 24 March 2026 1P Weekly Update w/e 13/03/26 During science week, the children have conducted their own experiment with bubbles. The children create their own bubble wand and tested what shapes the bubbles were.

Tuesday 24 March 2026 1H Weekly Update w/e 13/03/26 Last week the children in 1H enjoyed all of the science week activities. These included the Coke and Mentos experiment workshop, testing their theories about whether we they could create different shaped bubbles with wands of various shapes; and a very interesting workshop on how electricity is made.

Friday 13 March 2026 1H Weekly Update w/e 06/03/26 The children in 1H enjoyed a book themed scavenger hunt last week. In groups they had to work out the answer to a clue and then search for the book.

Thursday 12 March 2026 1P Weekly Update w/e 06/03/26 This week the children learnt about how everyone is unique and special during our RE lessons. In busy time, they used mirrors and watercolour to create their own portraits.

Wednesday 11 March 2026 1H Weekly Update w/e 27/02/26 The children in 1H have been creating their own designs using connecting straws. Max and Xander proudly showed off the Arsenal badge they made.

Wednesday 11 March 2026 1P Weekly Update w/e 27/02/26 This week the children used their learning about the rocket that went to the moon to help them design and build their own rocket in busy time.

Tuesday 10 March 2026 French Weekly Update 27/02/26 Y1 pupils have been learning fruit vocabulary. We got to know a song and played a card game, then followed instructions to draw les fruits.

Tuesday 10 March 2026 1H Weekly Update w/e 13/02/26 In 1H, for Art, the children learned techniques for drawing their own dinosaurs. They were then able to add details such as foliage, volcanoes, fossils etc to their pictures.
