Loving and learning together as Jesus taught us

Serving ‘The Common Good’

‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

(Matthew 25:40)

An essential part of the Catholic faith, the key values of Catholic Social Teaching are found at the core of the Gospel. The key themes of Catholic Social Teaching are:

  • Human Dignity
  • Community & Participation
  • Care for Creation
  • Dignity in Work
  • Option for the Poor
  • Solidarity & Peace

The children, staff, parents and all involved in the community of St Catherine’s are here to serve.

“Christ has no body now on earth but yours; no hands but yours; no feet but yours.

Yours are the eyes through which the compassion of Christ must look out on the world.

Yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good.

Yours are the hands with which He is to bless His people.”

St Theresa of Avila

Over the years we as a community have supported many different charities locally and across the world including CAFOD, Cancer research UK, Macmillan Coffee Morning, Jeans for Genes, FSSA Zambia, Missio, Caritas, Save the Children, The Passage, Catholic Children Society, NSPCC, Alzheimer  and many more. We have had events ranging from cake sales, to group/ class fundraising, to our Lenten fundraising.

We continue to aim to stretch our awareness and time to ensure we as a school support those that are most vulnerable in our world.
