As part of their Caritas learning on Care of Creation, Year 6 have been very busy writing persuasive letters to the whole school community, encouraging them to be better Stewards of Creation.
Please read the wonderful examples below:

God has given us a world to live in so we should follow his teachings in the Bible. This Bible is like His mind and it shows us that, “In the beginning, God created the Heavens and everything on Earth… God saw everything that He had made, and indeed, it was very good.”
We are ‘Stewards of Creation’ so we should look after the world and let it prosper in peace so that it can live on forever more. As Pope Francis emphasised in Laudato Si, “All is not lost. Human beings… are also capable of rising above themselves, choosing again what is good and making a new start.”
So now we know that if we stop, think and believe, it is still possible for us to make a change.

In the Bible, God tells us to be ‘Stewards of Creation’. This means we have to care for the beautiful world around us. This shows we should want to change the world for better because pollution and climate change is hurting people and animals everywhere. You can try to walk to school or park and stride, also try not to litter as that isn’t following Gods plan.
Pope Francis tells us, “Creation is a gift, it is a wonderful gift that God has given us so that we care for it and we use it for the benefit of us all.” By protecting creation, we are following God’s plan and helping to make the world kinder and fairer for generations yet to come. When we do this, we are loving God as well as using our gifts from God.

God has blessed us and given us such a special gift which is the Earth. The gift of creation is so important and we only have one Earth to live in and one to take care of. The world is our home and without it we cannot live, so we should take care of it and be stewards of the world.
Each person in the world has a part in being stewards of creation, yet others damage the environment causing large piles of rubbish, global warming and pollution. To be able to take part in caring for our home, we should use less energy and not waste plastic and other harmful materials. “The Lord God put man in the garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” (Genesis 2:15) This tells us that we should choose to care for the planet because all of us are stewards.

God gave us this clean and stunning world for us to live in and it is beautiful but God told us that it is important to keep it green and fresh. If everyone can do something very small such as using less petrol or not littering, then there could be eight billion little changes and this would mean a lot to God.
I invite all of you to keep the environment clean and I know that God wants us to care for his creation and be better stewards of creation. There are starving children in our world yet some are just throwing food away as if it were nothing. So I ask all of you to donate your old clothes and be more not ask or have more.
