Before half term, we took part in ‘Walk to School Week’, asking everyone in our school community to make active journeys when travelling to and from school. The TfL Explorer Ambassadors met to total up the active journeys that were made and find out which class completed the most active journeys. The Explorer Ambassadors presented their findings in this week’s Celebration Assembly. They announced that 969 active journeys were made over the week. The best day for Active Travel was Tuesday with 221 active journeys. 5G came in third place with a total of 109 active journeys, 2S in 2nd place with 113 active journeys, but the winner of this years Walk to School Week trophy were 4K with 116 active journeys! Just because Walk to School Week is over for this year, the ambassadors campaign for active travel hasn’t stopped! They reminded us that active travel supports our physical and mental health, helps our community and is better for our environment.
