Sustainability Champions Launch Campaign

In our first Celebration Assembly of January 2026, the Sustainability Champions explained their roles are to develop how St Catherine's uses resources sustainably, meaning that we will be using resources in a way that ensures they are available for future generations. They explained that their role at St Catherine's is to innovate, educate and collaborate to make our school more sustainable. During this assembly, our Sustainability Champions launched their campaign to reduce the waste produced by single-use plastics across the school. Three classes will be piloting the use of glue-sponge boxes which can be refilled to reduce the number of gluesticks going to landfill. After the trial, the Sustainability Champions will gather feedback from those classes and create a report to see if this is a successful way of reducing the number of single-use plastic gluesticks and reducing our carbon footprint.
