Friday 10 April 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 27/03/26 Year 3 had a great time at the playground on Monday, investigating the different forces at use, as we jumped, slid, turned and swung on the different pieces of equipment. They will be writing a recount about this trip later on in the week.

Friday 10 April 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 27/03/26 In Maths this week, we explored unit fractions and played a game matching fractions with representations e.g. bar models and images.

Wednesday 25 March 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 20/03/26 In music, we used tertiary form (ABA) to compose our own pieces using tuned and untuned percussion.

Wednesday 25 March 2026 French Weekly Update w/e 20/03/26 Y3 watched a short film about a French boy celebrating his birthday, then worked in teams on an observation quiz, distributing questions and sharing answers. This completed our topic on giving the date and finding out about important events on the calendar. Joyeux Anniversaire!

Wednesday 25 March 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 20/03/26 As part of our continued celebrations for British Science Week 2026, the children took part in a whole-school Egg Drop Challenge. This hands-on STEM activity allowed them to explore materials, forces, protection, and creative problem-solving in a fun and engaging way.

Tuesday 24 March 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 13/03/36 This week, we investigated the question: 'What bubble shapes can you make?' We each created our own bubble wand with different shapes at the top and then investigated the bubble shapes they created.

Tuesday 24 March 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 13/03/26 Year 3 have a great Science week this week. They have really enjoyed creating their own bubble wands, and are looking forward to investigating how the different shapes will affect the shape of the bubbles.

Wednesday 11 March 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 06/03/26 We learned about the Liturgy of the Eucharist which is the ritualistic worship that we do to prepare to receive Jesus in Communion. We created a comic strip using symbols and captions to show the different parts of the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Tuesday 10 March 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 06/03/26 In Music in 3FW this week, the children were learning about symmetry in music. They used body percussion to create their own symmetrical pieces.

Tuesday 10 March 2026 3FW Weekly Update w/e 27/02/26 In RE, the children reflected on the story of the Last Supper, its symbols and actions, and made links to other known bible stories. They enjoyed re-enacting the Last Supper story using the props provided.

Tuesday 10 March 2026 3MG Weekly Update w/e 27/02/26 In RE, we read the story of the Last Supper in Matthew's Gospel. We enjoyed sharing bread and squash (wine) while we listened to the story - it was like we were there!

Tuesday 24 February 2026 3MG Weekly Learning w/e 13/02/26 In Guided Reading, we explored the story of 'Theseus and the Minotaur'. We retold parts of the myth using puppets and practised our fluency, intonation and expression. Using the puppets helped us to emphasise important parts of the story.

Tuesday 24 February 2026 3FW Weekly Learning w/e 13/02/26 On Thursday, chef Aron came into school to lead a pizza class. The children made their own pizzas, and baked them together. It was a fun, hands-on activity, and the children really enjoyed tasting their own pizzas!

Tuesday 10 February 2026 3MG Weekly Learning w/e 06/02/26 This week in Science, we have been learning about seed dispersal. In groups we had to act out a particular way seeds are dispersed: wind, water, animal or self exploding.

Tuesday 10 February 2026 French Weekly Update w/e 06/02/26 3MG have been learning about the French celebration day La Chandeleur (Candlemas) on 2nd February, also known as Le Jour Des Crêpes. Pupils interviewed each other about their favourite topping and learned a dance to go with a pancake rhyme, copying some French school children.

Tuesday 10 February 2026 3FW Weekly Learning 06/02/26 Year 3 had a great time at the British museum this week seeing the Ancient Greek displays. The children enjoyed using the Ipads to recreate parts of the Parthenon and learn about it.

Tuesday 3 February 2026 3FW Weekly Learning w/e 30/01/26 This week the children completed the first stage of their Art project. They really enjoyed soaking the soft paper in the glue/water mix to build up the form.

Tuesday 3 February 2026 3MG Weekly Learning w/e 30/01/26 In Maths, we worked in groups, using concrete resources and visual images to help us prove a multiplication calculation. We filmed and recorded our explanations on iPads.

Tuesday 27 January 2026 3FW Weekly Learning w/e 23/01/26 This week in year 3 the children have been learning about adverbs and how to put these into a double ly sentence.

Tuesday 27 January 2026 3MG Weekly Learning w/e 23/01/26 In RE, we learnt more about the kingdom of God. We looked through newspapers to find examples of where people are helping to establish the kingdom, right now here on earth! We discussed what actions we can take to follow these examples.
