3FW Weekly Learning w/e 21/11/25

On Monday, 3FW had a fantastic trip to Waltham Abbey Gardens at Lee Valley, as part of our Stone Age topic. The sun shone all day as the children sketched their own cave paintings and learned how to start a fire using flint and steel. They explored the three key periods of the Stone Age — the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic — and worked together to sequence these on a large timeline of human history on Earth. One of the highlights was sorting through a collection of artefact models, including teeth, claws, and skulls, which the children carefully examined and identified as belonging to different creatures, even Early Humans! They also foraged for plants that Stone Age people would have used for food, medicine, and materials. It was a fun-filled, hands-on adventure that truly brought our history learning to life.
