Physical activity not only improves health, reduces stress and improves concentration, but also promotes correct physical growth and development. Exercise has a positive influence on academic achievement, emotional stability and interaction with others. Therefore at St Catherine’s we ensure that both our teachers and our children are aware of its importance.
At St Catherine’s School each class will be timetabled to have two Physical Education lessons per week. The lessons will contain elements required by the National Curriculum of:

Key Stage 2: Gymnastics, Dance, Games, Athletics, Swimming (Yrs 3 & 4), Outdoor Adventerous Activity
