On Monday 10th July, Year 5 visited the Royal College of Music. The children participated in a workshop and learnt all about the cultural context of gamelan, they learnt a piece of traditional Javanese music and performed as a group. The children also had a tour of the Royal College of Music Museum one of the richest and most relevant collections of music-related objects in the UK and Europe. In the museum the children had the opportunity to build upon their knowledge of gamelan by creating their own Wayang shadow puppet.
