Girl’s Football v Sacred Heart

Last Friday our girls team played their final league game of the season against Sacred Heart knowing we needed a win to have any chance of claiming top spot. The game was played in horrible conditions with the rain and wind making it hard for either team to get the ball down and play. We trailed 1-0 at the break but came out fighting and soon equalised after a sustained period of pressure. However we were not able to make it 6 wins on the bounce and the game finished 2-2. This handed the power back over to Livingstone in the race for top spot, who have now gone on to win their games in hand meaning our girls finished 2nd in the league. Even though we just fell short of the top spot it has been a remarkable season with so many highlights along the way, all the girls should be proud of what they have achieved, we finished with 16 points out of a possible 21. I would like to personally thank every member of the squad for all their hard work and dedication this season. I would also like to thank all of their parents/guardians and the staff at St. Catherine’s for all their help and support during the season.
