Year 4 Weekly Update – 03/03/23

Dear Parents and Carers,

We were very impressed with all the artwork children in Year 4 created for World Book day. Thank you for all your donations to the book exchange it has been a great success!

Science Museum – We have our visit to the Science Museum on Friday 3rd March with a focus on Electricity. Please provide your child with a packed lunch and water for the trip. Please ensure you have completed the online form otherwise your child will not be able to attend the visit.

Spellings: Practise spelling the following words: injection hesitation completion expression confession permission admission expansion comprehension tension.

Times tables: Please continue to practise times tables up to 12. It is important that your child is regularly accessing the purple mash times table tests which are in their weekly 2Dos.

English: In English,  next week we will be continuing our work on Hiawatha and the Peacemaker. We will be focusing on correctly punctuating direct speech

Maths Children will learn about fractions and identify how many equal parts a shape has been split into and move on to thinking about how many more parts are needed to make the whole. They will then explore fractions greater than 1 and develop their understanding of mixed numbers.

RE:  Retell the stories during Holy Week & make links between the stories and beliefs about Jesus. Ask and respond to questions about the feelings and experiences of the main characters during the events of Holy Week.

PSHE : Children will learn about reasons for following and complying with regulations and restrictions.

  • Forest School – please bring wellies/ waterproof shoes on Tuesday
