Dear Parents and Carers,
Year 4 had such a wonderful time at Cuffley Camp last week, we really appreciate your cooperation throughout the planning of this trip. All the staff were very impressed with the behaviour and engagement of all students over the two days, we really learnt a lot! We will resume the TTRS tournament scores next week as we appreciate the children have had a busy week. Please find attached your child’s learning, spelling and times table for next week.
Spellings: This week’s spellings will be a revision of year 3 / 4 common exception words:
Women, Woman, Weight, Various, Through, Thought, Though, Therefore, Surprise, Suppose
Times tables: Next week we will be continuing our focus on the 8 times tables. We will be practicing fluency and looking for patterns within the 8 times tables. Please practice at home using both times table rock stars and purple mash. Please ensure your child is completing the home learning times table test on purple mash.
English: Next week in English we will be writing our very own Roman Menus. Children will visit a ‘Roman Banquet’ in the classroom, then use what we have learnt to inspire our menus. This week we will be focusing on grammar and using adverbials in a paragraph inspired by Spartacus’ story.
Maths: In Maths, we will be learning about Roman Numerals as well as looking at rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000
RE: In RE we are continuing to ask and respond to questions about Biblical figures and exploring their experiences, feelings and beliefs.
PSHE: Next week in PSHE we will be talking about how thankfulness can help us protect our mental wellbeing.
