Online safety – 21/06/22 – Twitch

Twitch is an extremely popular livestreaming platform used by gamers to watch others play games such as Fortnite. It is in the top 30 most visited sites on the internet. While gaming is what it is primarily used for, you can also follow non-gaming channels such as talk shows and podcasts. The minimum age required to sign up is 13 however, even this is often considered too young due to the unpredictable nature of livestreaming and what it could potentially expose children to. Like all livestreaming platforms, Twitch can be risky for kids and teens. It is therefore not recommended that children use the platform at all.
