Dear parents,
We hope you had a wonderful and restful half term! This week we have begun our new topic of ‘Bounce’. The children have been enjoying reading a variety of different poems about sports. They have been trying to memorise a poem and have been looking at the features of poems. They have also been collecting useful adjectives, verbs and adverbs for their own poems.
In Maths the children have been learning about duration of time and how to calculate how long an activity has taken. They have been learning to compare different durations of time such as a half an hour and 40 minutes and say which is longer and which is shorter.
In R.E the children have been learning about Pentecost. They have been writing poems to describe how the disciples acted and felt before, during and after the Holy Spirit came.
In Science the children have been learning about the life cycle of a plant.
Home Learning for this Week
Next week in spelling we will be focusing on adding es to verbs and nouns which end in a y. Please help your child to learn the following words:
baby
babies
party
parties
cry
cries
fly
flies
For the Maths home learning this week, we would like the children to focus on learning their 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Please encourage your child to log on to Times Tables Rockstars to practise these.
