Dear Parents and Carers,
Year 4 have had a wonderful start to the week, we have been preparing for our prayer service and enjoying writing our own pieces of poetry. Congratulations
to 4B who have won this week’s times tables rock stars tournament! It is great to see you become more fluent with your times tables! Please see below for your child’s learning and home learning.
Spellings: Our spellings this week will focus on revisiting words spelt with the ‘ssion’ sound:
Emission, session, discussion, permission, submission, aggression, expression, impression
Times tables: Please continue to regularly practise times tables at home on both purple mash and times table rock stars. Your child has been set a try it check on purple mash- this is titled ‘Multiplication- Home test’ This test mimics the conditions in place for the times table check in June.
English: Next Week we will be writing our own play scripts about our topic 1066
Maths: In Maths we will be working on understanding hundredths as decimals
RE: In RE next week we will be consolidating our learning of the Pentecost
D+T: We will be making our own Normal helmets later this week. If you are able to donate a small pack of party/regular balloons we would be very grateful!
Reminder:
- PE days are Tuesday and Friday
- Spelling assessment will take place on Tuesdays.
- Please ensure your child takes part in daily times table activities.
- Library books to be returned every Monday.
- Year 4 Prayer service in on Wednesday at 9am
