Year 5 Weekly Update – 06/05/22

Dear Parents,

It was lovely to see so many of you enjoying looking at your child’s books yesterday. It was particularly nice to see how proud the children were to share their work with you.

In English, we have written a biography for Henry VIII. The children have really enjoyed learning about this infamous figure.

In Maths, we have been rounding, comparing and ordering decimals and learning to understand percentages.

In Forest School, we applied our math’s skills outside: measuring the height and circumferences of trees, finding angles and making 3D shapes.

In RE, we compared four Gospel stories of the Resurrection.

Next week:

In Guided Reading, we will continue to read ‘The Diver’s Daughter’ by Patrice Lawrence. We will be using inference and looking at how vocabulary is used.

In English, we will begin a persuasive unit of writing. We will be looking at a letter from Anne Boleyn to Henry VIII, written while she was in the Tower of London.

In Maths, we will be continuing with percentages.

In RE, we will be preparing our Prayer Service.
