Dear parents,
This week in English the children have been reading the the story of ‘the Night Pirates’. They have been learning about postcards and have been writing a postcard in role as Tom. They have been learning how to plan their writing.
In Maths the children have been learning about money – the different coins and notes. They have been learning how to calculate an amount by adding the coins and notes together.
In R.E the children have been learning about when Jesus appeared to the disciples after his death, whilst they were fishing on the lake. They have freeze framed the story and written about what happened.
Home Learning for this Week
Next week in spelling we will be focusing on words with ‘ey’ endings Please help your child to learn the following words:

honey
monkey
money
valley
alley
chimney
For the Maths home learning this week, we would like the children to focus on their mental Maths. Please practise adding and subtracting a one-digit number to a two-digit number with your child eg 21 + 3 or 86 – 7 and see if they can get quicker at this. We will give them a mental Maths challenge next week to see how quick they are at this.
