Children currently enjoy a range of games online that are safe and age appropriate. There are however, some things to be aware of that children could encounter when simply seeking information or guidance on these games.
Modding- People can create mods which are their own versions of existing, popular games. Sometimes these are harmless but because they are controlled by individuals and not the original game makers, they can contain harmful content or increase the violence levels. It is important to be aware of these mods as it may look as though your child is playing a familiar game.
Live streaming – Gamers live stream themselves playing a game whilst talking over it. Often this is harmless but again it is not regulated so children could see or hear inappropriate content.
