Dear Parents and Carers,
Year 4 have had a wonderful week of learning so far, we have been learning to apply persuasive writing techniques in English as well as tackling fractions of amounts in Maths. Congratulations to 4N who were hugely successful in our Easter times table tournament and were the winners! We have set up a weekly tournament on times tables rockstars between the classes so please ensure you are logging in at home. Please see below for your child’s learning and home learning.
Spellings: Our spellings this week will focus on the ‘s’ sound spelt ‘sc’
science, abscess, ascend, descend, scene, scissors, scented, crescent
Times tables: In school we will be utilising the government resource ‘try it out’ in preparation for our times table check in June. Please continue to regularly practise times tables at home on both purple mash and times table rockstars.
English: As part of our topic sessions next week we will be learning about the battle of Hastings and other significant events of 1066.
Maths: In Maths we will be looking at tenths and hundredths as we begin to learn about decimals.
