Times tables

Continue to practise multiplication and division facts for the 8 times tables.

e.g.

3 x 8 = 24

8 x 3 = 24

24 ÷ 8 = 3

24 ÷ 3 = 8

Remember to use Times Tables Rockstars to do this. Children should be aiming for three times a week for at least five minutes.

Maths

Next week, we will multiply 2-digits by 1 digit where we have to exchange ones for tens and/ or tens for hundreds. We will also look at dividing 2 digits by 1 digit first without and then with exchanges.

Literacy

This week we have been finishing a narrative based on The Iron man and we will be starting work on writing a recount which will continue into next week.

RE

In RE, we will reflect on all of our learning from this half term and write about the different stages of the Mass in detail. We will begin this at the end of this week and continue on into next week.

Science

This week we will be making compasses and going on a treasure hunt in the school grounds. If you have any plastic yoghurt pot lids, please send them in with your child by Thursday.

Computing/PSHE

We will be focusing on e-safety. In particular, how people can pretend to be someone different online. The classroom will become a courtroom as we learn about different laws related to online content and decide whether some of our defendants are guilty of any of these crimes.

DT

This week in DT we will be finishing our cars and evaluating our build against what was planned. Next week we will be embossing on foil during Forest school.

Forest School

This half term the children have enjoyed a range of creative and problem solving activities outside, such as making windchimes from natural materials and participating in the ‘Egg Challenge’.

Kind regards,
