Dear Parents and Carers,
This week year 4 have been celebrating science week. We had a fantastic time exploring our solar system in the mobile planetarium yesterday, planting trees during forest school today and we are looking forward to our Science Boffin workshop on Thursday. Please find your child’s learning and home learning below.
Spellings: Spellings this week will be focused around words with similar sounding endings but different spellings. (-cian, -sion, -tion, -ssion) Please practice these at home.
Physician, Extension, Profession, Fiction, Optician, Collision, Session, Fraction
Times tables: Please continue to regularly use times tables rock stars at home. Please focus this week on your 12’s 8’s and 9 times tables.
English: Next week we will be learning about Native American History
Maths: In Maths we will be continuing our focus on fractions, with a focus on equivalent fractions.
RE: In RE next week we will be learning about Good Friday and reflecting upon the suffering of Jesus.
D+T: Next week Year 4 will be designing and constructing Totem poles. For this we will be using tubes of cardboard (Toilet rolls/ Kitchen rolls etc). Please bring in a cardboard tube ready for their learning next Thursday. If you have any extra tubes your donations will be welcomed.
Reminders:
- Dress in Blue or yellow in support of Ukraine on Wednesday 16th (Tomorrow) Please be aware that as tomorrow is our PE day children will still need to come to school in PE kit but they may wear items of blue/ yellow to show their participation.
