Maths

In maths we have been looking at division by sharing and grouping. We will then move on to the 4 times tables and how we can use this when multiplying and dividing.

Literacy

In literacy, we have been using fronted adverbials and adverbs to write our own explanation texts about our science experiment on forces. Next week, we will be starting a predictive narrative based on The Iron Man by Ted Hughes.

RE

In RE this week, we are learning about the beginning of the mass and the importance of saying sorry. Next week will continue talk about Reconciliation and the role it plays in Catholic life.

Science

This week, we have learned about different kinds of forces. Next week, we will carry out an experiment to find out if all materials are magnetic.

Computing

In computing we will be starting to use spreadsheets.

DT

Over the next few weeks, we will be making our own moving vehicles. This week we will be looking at how wheels and axles work and the children will write the method for building their vehicles. Once the children have fully designed their vehicles, they will need to bring in the relevant junk modelling materials to enable them to build their vehicle.

PSHE

In PSHE, we will be learning about safe relationships and developing the skills to maintain healthy and positive relationships. This week we will also be discussing the situation in Ukraine with the children. We will be using this blog from the DofE to assist with this: Help for teachers and families to talk to pupils about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and how to help them avoid misinformation. – The Education Hub (blog.gov.uk)

Forest School

We will be continuing with Forest School every Wednesday. Please remember wellies!

Kind regards,
