
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your patience regarding the newsletter this week. We hope you had a restful half term, it has been wonderful to welcome Year 4 back to begin our second spring term! This week we have started our Topic ‘Road trip USA’ we have been drafting post cards from New York and defining some unfamiliar vocabulary. Please find attached your child’s learning and home learning for next week.
Spellings: For Spellings we are looking at the prefixes ‘anti’ and ‘inter:
Antidote, Antibiotic, Antihero, Antihistamine, Intergalactic, International, Interrupt
Times tables: Please continue to practice all times tables. Now we have launched times tables rockstars, and the children have been given their login details, please use this resource at home as much as possible! The children really enjoyed accessing their accounts during our Computing slot this week.
English: Next week we will looking at sending postcards to launch our new topic. This will allow us to practice using different sentence types to make our writing more exciting.
Maths: In Maths we are learning how to calculate the area of various shapes.
Forest School: Any further donations of plastic tub lids would be greatly appreciated before Tuesday next week!
RE: In RE next week we will be discussing the significance of Ash Wednesday.
Reminders:
PE day’s are Tuesday and Wednesday
Forest School on Tuesday will require wellies/ waterproof shoes
If you have any plastic lids from dips please bring them in to be used in forest school!
