Opening of the Arts Hubs

This week was a momentous occasion for St Catherine’s Primary School. We were honoured to welcome His Eminence Cardinal Vincent Nichols to our community to open our new Performing Arts Hub. We celebrated a wonderful liturgy where the Cardinal dedicated the arts hub to the memory of Allison Waldron-Daly and Ryan Patrick Daly who were very special members of our St Catherine’s community. We also celebrated the retirement of our much loved Deputy, Mary Ainger, who has served St Catherine’s school for almost 40 years.

It was a truly joyous occasion culminating in six years of hard work carried out by the PTA and the Governing body with the support of all the parents.

Thank you to everyone who attended today’s coffee morning. It was a pleasure to show you all around and hear your lovely feedback. The children also visited the Arts Hub today (many of them) for the first time. They were entertained by Mr Marvel and had some cake and juice. They thoroughly enjoyed the show lots of cheers and laughter. They enjoyed being in such a wonderful space. It was a fitting way to begin their use of the arts hub. We hope it will continue to be filled with joy and laughter for many years to come. Today the children will leave St Catherine’s with a book mark commemorating the official opening of the St Catherine’s Performing Arts Hub. We want our children to remember they were part of this historic event and look back fondly on this special day.
