Dear parents,
This week in literacy we have been reading the story ‘The Tunnel’ by Antony Browne. The children have been using the clues on the front cover to make inferences about what the story might be about. They have also been pretending to write a letter to the main character of the story and have been trying to use conjunctions like ‘because’ in their sentences. In Maths the children have been learning about multiplication. They have been learning how to use the multiplication sign and how it is repeated addition of the same number.
In PSHE we have been learning about how to keep safe at home. The children made posters to tell others how to stay safe at home and watch out for dangerous products, such as cleaning agents and medicines.
We have also been practising our nativity for our performance on Friday. Please make sure to practise your child’s lines with them one more time before Friday and make sure they know who they come after.
In spellings this week we will be looking at words with ‘ge’ in and the sound that that makes.
Home Learning – For home learning this week, please help your child to learn the following words:
Tricky Words:
should
could
would
ge Words:
change
large
stage

Please also help your child to learn their 5 times table. Please also listen to your child read regularly and sign their reading record.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
Mrs Whyatt and Miss Fielden
