Dear parents,
It has been wonderful to welcome the children back today after the Christmas break. This morning the children have been writing about their Christmas holidays. We have also begun our Maths topic of multiplication and division and have been learning about how to recognise equal groups and to use our counting in 2s, 5s or 10s to work out a total.
Later on this week we will be practising our nativity, as we will be filming it next Friday. If you could please help your child to practice their nativity lines tonight and tomorrow night before our KS1 practice on Friday, we would very much appreciate it.
In spellings this week we will be looking at words with ‘dge’ in and the sound that that makes.
Home Learning – For home learning this week, please help your child to learn the following words:
The tricky words:
cold
pass
many
Dge words:
bridge
edge
judge
fridge
badge
Please also help your child to learn their 10, 5 and 2 times tables. Please also make sure to listen to your child read every day for about ten minutes and sign their reading record.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
Mrs Whyatt and Miss Fielden
