Dear parents,
This week in Literacy we have been looking at the features of a diary entry and planning our own diary entries, pretending we are Little Red Riding Hood.
In Maths the children have been learning to subtract a 1 -digit number from a 2-digit number. The children have been learning to use different methods to do this, such as a number line, their fingers and counting back in their head, partitioning or practical resources. Later on this week, they will be introduced to the idea of the column method of subtraction for recording our subtraction sums.
In R.E the children have been learning about the Trinity and how God is represented as three persons in one – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. They have been learning about the different roles of each part of the Trinity.
In history the children have been learning about how shops have changed over time and how people always used to visit individual shops to buy different produce.
Home Learning – For home learning this week, please focus on helping your child to learn their lines for our nativity play and saying these loudly and with expression. There will be no other additional home learning for this week to allow you to do this.
Please also make sure to listen to your child read every day for about ten minutes and sign their reading record.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
Mrs Whyatt and Miss Fielden
