Dear Parents,
Please find below your child’s home learning, learning and year 4 updates below.
Nativity
The children are really enjoying putting together the Christmas Nativity and cannot wait to share what they have been doing with you. As our Nativity is fast approaching please can you ensure that your child knows their lines without a script by next week. We have attached a copy of the song lyrics along with the costume list to this email. Please look down the list for your child’s character, next to it will be what your child will need to wear for the show. Please bring in all costumes in a plastic bag clearly labelled with your child’s name by Friday the 26th of November. If you have any problems sourcing your child’s costume please contact your class teacher we will be happy to help.
If possible, we are on the lookout for the following items:
- ‘L plates’
- Gold and Silver tinsel
- Giant Star Wand
- Check Patterned tea towels
- Small Drawstring material gift bags to hold wise men’s gifts
We would be very grateful if you were able to provide any of the above.
Home Learning
Times tables: 12 times tables 1X12 – 6X12
Please continue to revisit all previously learnt times tables.
Spellings: This week we are continuing to work on understanding the application of prefixes, focusing on ‘ir’ and ‘il’. The spelling words are, irregular, irrational, irresponsible, irresistible, illegal, illiterate, illegible, and illogical. Please discuss with your child how adding these two letters to the beginning of the word changes its meaning.
Learning
Maths: Next week Year 4 will be learning about measurement and equivalent lengths in m and cm.
English: In English next week we will be using drama to rehearse our ideas for writing, as well as learning about causal conjunctions.
RHE/PSHE: To learn that people feel included within healthy friendships; recognise when others may feel lonely or excluded.
RE: In RE we are discussing how Mary demonstrated her trust in God.
Reminder: School pictures are on Monday 22nd November. Your child will need to be in full school uniform not their PE kit on this day. Your child can bring all their swimming clothes in a bag to get changed into.
Kindest Regards,
Mrs Nicholaou and Miss Bonfield
