Dear parents/carers,
We have had another brilliant week of learning in Y6. Please can you make sure that your child is bringing their coat and bag with them to school. It has also been noted that a few of the Y6 independent travellers are not being safe on the road whilst walking to and from school. We have spoken with all of the children but please could you ensure that you also speak with your child again to remind them about the importance of walking to and from school safely.
The learning for next week is:
English: Writing a diary entry in role as Charles Darwin and editing effectively.
Maths: Divide 4 digits by 1 digit, divide with remainders, short division
Geography: Comparing remote islands and looking at their biodiversity.
PSHE: Friendship Week- Odd socks day (how are we all unique), learning about prejudice and discrimination and how to respond to it.
Science: To identify how animals and plants are adapted to suit their environment in different ways and that adaptation may lead to evolution.
RE: To reflect on the cost of commitment and present an argument for a particular point of view.
Art: Sketching flowers and plants and comparing them to those on the Galapagos Islands.
Spellings: Homphones: dessert, desert, stationary, stationery, complement, compliment, principle, principal, prophet, profit
Thank you for your continued support,
Year 6 Team
