Dear parents,
This week in Literacy we have begun our new text of Little Red Riding Hood. The children have been acting out the story and trying to use time conjunctions eg ‘first’, ‘then’, ‘next’, and story language, such as ‘once upon a time’, ‘one day’, when retelling the story orally.
In Maths the children have been learning their number bonds up to 100 and also learning about how to use related facts to help them with these eg 2+ 7 = 9 can help you work out 20+70.
In R.E the children have been learning about the Hindu religion and in particular about the festival of Diwali.
In PSHE the children have been learning about how to deal with ‘big’ feelings and who to talk to, when you are worried about those.
Home Learning – For home learning please help your child to learn the following words:
Mrs.
child
sure
Mr.
pretty
behind
beautiful
sugar
They will be tested next Wednesday. Please also don’t forget to help your child learn their lines for our school nativity by Monday.
Please also make sure to listen to your child read every day for about ten minutes and sign their reading record. Please also help your child to learn their 5 times table and recap their 10 times table. You may find these websites useful to help you.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
Mrs Whyatt and Miss Fielden
