This week we have celebrated Maths Week which is all about building children’s confidence, nurturing a love of maths and sparking an interest in a subject that impacts all of our lives, every day. We all took part in a whole school challenge called ‘I’m Eight’ where we had to represent the number 8 in a variety of ways. Some children wrote their own addition and subtraction sums whereas other children decided to use multiplication, division and even BIDMAS. Here are some pictures of work in Y3 and Y6.
Discussion in talk partners as well as a whole class has been invaluable when sharing responses to some ‘I’m Curious’ questions (an example attached) as well as discussing ‘Where is the Maths?’ in some pictures (like the one attached). All in all, we have thoroughly enjoyed being creative problem solvers!
