We have had a brilliant week in Year 6 and we were really impressed with all of the children’s house and sport captain speeches, their delivery, preparation and presentation was outstanding! Thank you for supporting your child in preparing for this.
We have a busy week ahead with several events happening, please ensure that your child is prepared, they are:
Monday: Art (please ensure that your child brings in 2 bars of plain soap and a butter knife to carve)
Wednesday: Drugs and Alcohol Workshop (please ensure that you have paid on parent pay)
Friday: Mental Health Day
The learning for next week is:
English: Continuing our persuasive leaflet about Camp Green Lake and writing a set of instructions about how to celebrate ‘The Day of the Dead’ festival.
Maths: Multi-step addition and subtraction, then add and subtract integers, multiply 4 digit by 1 digit numbers.
RE: To evaluate what the Kingdom of God means to us.
Science: Continuing our investigation on refraction.
PSHE: Focus on the physical and psychological effects of drug use; the role of legal and illegal drugs; the causes and effects of drug use; peer pressure; and addiction, all of which will be age appropriate and in line with the current Year 6 PSHE objectives. (The children will be taking part in an interactive drama workshop)
