Dear Parents and Carers,
Spellings: apostrophes for contractions:
Please practise 2s, 5s and 10s at speed. Try 5 seconds maximum per question. Remember, Purple Mash games are great for this. To challenge your child, they could try recalling the related division facts. E.g. 12 ÷ 2 = 6 They could then recall the multiplication and division fact families for each times table.
E.g. 6 x 2 = 12, 2 x 6 = 12, 12 ÷ 2 = 6, 12 ÷ 6 = 2
This is a great game for both the multiplication and division facts:
Next week we will be comparing and ordering numbers up to 1,000.
In literacy, we will be writing non-chronological reports about a crocodile the children have met in our class book- Krindlekrax. The children will use their reading retrieval skills to find out about Krindlekrax before they begin writing.
Next week, we will continue our learning about Baptism – signs and symbols.
This week, we will look at module 2, unit 1. The children will hear the story of the Prodigal Son. They will then discuss what makes a good friendship. Next week, we will move on to module 2 unit 2, session 1- friends, family and others.
This week, we used colouring pencils and oil pastels to recreate different images of crocodiles. We looked at how we could create different shapes, shades and textures. Next week, we will use natural art forms to recreate these pictures.
We will move on to nutrition and food labels.
