Maths
In maths, we have moved on to properties of shape, specifically looking at angles, triangles and quadrilaterals. Next week, we will look at lines of symmetry and position on a grid.
Literacy
Linked to our guided reading on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, for the next two weeks, we will be writing the next chapter of the book. We will look at the difference in pace between descriptive parts of stories compared with the action and suspense. We will use different techniques and sentence types to create this in our own stories.
RE
In RE, we will be looking at Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta and we will consider how we can inspire others to carry out the mission of Jesus.
Guided Reading
In guided reading, we have enjoyed reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. This week, we have focused on what we can infer about the main characters and made predictions of what they may say and do in the following chapters.
Computing
Last week we began creating algorithms to program arrow keys to move a sprite on Scratch, we will continue to add to that later this week.
PSHE
We will continue look at the environment and the impacts humans have on it.
Kind regards,
Year 4 Team
